From an early age, imagery has always been at the heart of Preston's existence. It began as sketches, developed from an early exposure to Japanese graphic novels. Eventually this obsession evolved into photography, and finally moving images. In one form or another, his journey has been driven by an insatiable desire to create.

At nineteen, Preston committed himself to the humbling and relentless craft of filmmaking. Through years of collaboration with gifted filmmakers and artisans, his work has developed a distinct reputation as colorful, textural, and dream-like. Preston strives to author films that are instinctual, and portray profound, challenging, and uniquely human experiences. His films are motivated by my belief in cinema's singular ability to explore unconventional perspectives, and impart empathy to an audience.

Preston’s professional body of work spans music videos, narrative films, and branded content. His narrative work has screened at prestigious venues, including the Academy of Motion Picture Samuel Goldwyn Theater, as well as festivals such as the Los Angeles International Shorts Film Festival. Currently based in Los Angeles, he continues to build his career as a director and cinematographer, pushing the boundaries of music video and narrative storytelling.
